Chased from Heaven or Escaping Tourist Hell? Venice's Graduate Students in Focus

Abstract This work addresses a key question for the construction and evolution of university cities: their retentiveness student population once they complete studies. It so does with focus on distinctively tourist city like Venice, highly attractive young adults in education, yet at same time subject to strong pressures displacement stable residents. The balance between these two forcefields seems be losing side recent years. In our research we trace this evolution, through life histories sample graduates local universities that resided Venice different periods over last 30 We therefore tackle experiences, motivations perceptions have either favoured integration ‘dream place’, or triggered an eventual decision leave, framed by irresistible expansion city's dimension.
